--- The Capitol ---
At the end of a promenade stood two figures.
Hmm... those fireworks weren't that bad.
At least the Capitol is safe...
What was going through your mind trying to set the magmaworks off again?
In the end, Luigin was unable to persuade Lexan.
However, Annuation Mountain did not erupt anyway due to an obstruction.
I am making the decisions which are the best for this world. You of all people should understand that.
In any case the show couldn't go ahead anyway. There was a slight blockage you never warned me about...
With their ability to manipulate uncertainty, Zenryaku can observe any point in space. And yet, when a smart and wise politician makes a decision, they must always ask, 'what next?' Thus, it was inevitable that mistakes would be made.
Oh well. It doesn't matter now.
About the meteor shower soon... I am sure there is a specialist somewhere that can change a flight path or two...
Ah, you never give up, do you...
Realising that Lexan was an opponent far out of his league, Luigin retreated to the Capitol.
Lexan is too strong! Hopefully the fireworks don't cause too much damage...
It was then that Luigin's superior entered the room.
This laboratory is going to be destroyed by earthquakes if that mountain erupts!
Get back out there and go deal with it.
Try clearing the game without continues for a better ending!

Today is Annuation! Every year, on this night, the Ministry of Anarchy holds a firework show for the whole Capitol.
But now is no time for jubilation. Seismographs throughout the city have been acting up all day! The source of the vibrations seems to be the Annuation Mountain, an extinct volcano visible from the Capitol's shoreline.
Armed with the power of the nearby chemistry lab, Luigin Porqui leaves to figure out what is going on there.
This is a shooting game where you shoot the enemies and dodge the enemies' bullets.
If you get hit by an enemy bullet, you will lose a life and enemy bullets on screen will be deleted. Losing all your lives results in a game over.
If you game over, you may use a continue to respawn at max power. However, this will reset your score, lives or bombs. You may continue up to 3 times per run; otherwise, you must restart from the beginning.
However, if an enemy bullet only passes close to your hitbox, you will gain a graze point which increases the value of blue point items.
Enemy waves spawn automatically from the top of the screen in sync with the stage music.
Halfway through the stage, there is a midboss, and at the end of the stage there is a stage boss. If you defeat the stage boss, you win the game.
(There is only one stage, the Calendar Stage.)
Use the arrow keys to move.
Hold Z to shoot bullets.
Holding Shift enters focused mode, which slows down your motion, shoots your bullets in a narrower arc and makes your hitbox visible on screen as a red circle.
(Note that your hitbox only takes up about 10% of your player sprite.)
Pressing X uses a bomb, which makes you invincible for its duration and deletes enemy bullets it touches. You have a finite number of bombs, which is represented by the "Spell Card" meter on the sidebar. If you die with less than two bombs, your number of bombs will reset to two.
Halfway through the stage, there is a midboss, and at the end of the stage there is a stage boss.
Each boss has multiple life bars; this is represented by a number to the left of the visible life bar. For example, "2" indicates that the boss has 2 more life bars in addition to the current one.
Bosses alternate between using normal attacks (shown as white sections of the boss life bar) and spell cards (shown as coloured sections of the boss life bar).
Normal attacks are incrementally stronger versions of the boss's basic attack.
Spell cards bedazzle the player with bullets crafted specifically for use in that spell card. While a spell card is active, the background will change and the
Each boss attack is also accompanied by a timer; if the timer runs out, the boss will move on to its next attack even if the life bar for the current phase has not been drained.
If a spell card is cleared without dying, bombing or running out of time, a large score bonus is awarded. This score bonus decreases with time taken to capture the spell.
Lexan's ninth spell card is an exception to this last point. This is a survival spell card; in other words, Lexan cannot be damaged during it, and this spell card can only be ended by reaching the end of its timer. If this is done without dying or bombing, the maximum score bonus is awarded.
While a boss is on the screen, no regular stage enemies will spawn. However, a boss may summon special enemies to accompany it during certain attacks.
Defeated enemies drop items which slowly drift to the bottom of the screen. These items can be picked up by passing close to them and give a variety of helpful effects.
Going above the item autocollection line (shown at the start of the stage 75% of the way up the screen) will automatically collect every item currently on the screen. Items are also autocollected whenever a boss spawns.
Extra items are also given at certain score thresholds (shown in the game sidebar). These items' effects are automatically applied and do not need to be collected.
Below is a list of item types you will encounter playing Ordinal Project 01. (This list continues on the next page.)
![]() | Power Item | Adds 0.01 power and 100 score. If collected at max power, adds 10 000 score instead. |

![]() | Life Piece | Collecting three of these gives an extra life. |
![]() | Bomb Piece | Collecting three of these gives an extra bomb. |
![]() | Extend | Gives an extra life. |
